Bourbon Lovers Assemble!
Okay, this wasn’t a movie watching event (note to self to do soon), but it was an event. We were having a taco party and some of the guests were BCB members and others would still enjoy bourbon and maybe even a cigar.

Since we’d be smoking and drinking on the deck, I went through my checklist and noted that we were missing a few things. Most notably coasters – the bane of every cocktail. To be honest, I wanted something just for the BCB members, and of course I waited until the last minute to figure that out. Glasses I was good with, and I’ve got plenty of coasters, but no one wants to put a great cocktail on a hot table or arm rest. Been there, done that, and ruined too many a good drink.
Of course, I hit up all the normal spots and couldn’t find anything I really wanted (or at a price I wanted to spend! Parties are expensive enough), and I only had 2 days to get them.
I turned to the rainforest of shopping meccas and thought they better not let me down. A click-click here, and a click-click there, and seventeen more clicks and there they were…
Handcrafted charm, it said. Hand painted, are you kidding me? Yeas please! Six coasters (and I only needed four – and that’s because you haven’t signed up to be a BCB member (plus you’d have to live close enough to come – even though I would have invited you), but I digress.
Price – totally within budget.
The perfect gift for whiskey lovers and man cave royalty – quadruple check (you’d be royalty too if you were a member – but thanks for reading anyway ❤️ㅤ)
But, what did the reviews say??? All good. No one complained about durability. As claimed, they were durable – although someone dropped it off a boat, so how did they know? (and damn, I want to go to a boat party. Hint hint…)
Non-slip pads – ha, not on a boat I guess, but that would void my warranty too. On my deck, non-slip pads will be perfect to hold the cocktail glasses (no freaking red solo cups, y’all! Bourbon goes in glass – clear acrylic only when necessary – like on my future boat (a man can dream can’t he?)
These things are solid. I might have to leave them out in the sun to bake and really test the warp-resistance, but I’ll comment on that later. For now, they are going to make my BCB guests feel special. And speaking of special, have you checked out the first ever BCBHaven Cocktail – The Ginger Rabbit! We perfected it, now you just have to be a chemist and keep the faith. It’s a specific bourbon and bitters, but it’s a great summer drink.
Mentioned in this post: Whiskey Barrel Coasters : Q Ginger Beer : Grenadine : Bourbon : Bitters
